Dorota Miśkiewicz, wants to pay tribute to the Polish pianism. Piano is a Polish specialty. Among many renowned musicians in Poland, pianists take the lead- she notices. Because jazz is the genre closest to Dorota, she would like, most of all, acknowledge the makings of Polish jazz pianists who spectacularly follow the path laid down once by world-renowned pianist Krzysztof Komeda. The path determined also by Frederick Chopin- a great composer, pianist but also improviser.
Dorota Miśkiewicz proposes an album which will feature songs recorded in intimate duos with famous pianists of different generations.
The album is meant to feature pianists of different generations, such as Leszek Możdżer (recording with ACT), Marcin Wasilewski (recording with ECM), and Piotr Orzechowski - Pianohooligan (recording for Decca Classics) and many more. The invitation to partake in the making of the album was also accepted by classical pianists, Bartłomiej Wąsik and Emilia Sitarz (Lutosławski Piano Duo). Some piano duos will also be accompanied by Atom String Quartet. The album will contain several beautiful songs which are a part of the canon of the history of Polish music.
The concert will take place 16.05.2016 in Teatr Roma, Warsaw.
